Philadelphia Academies ISO program coordinators

We have an immediate opening for two full-time, temporary program coordinators at the Philadelphia Academies, Inc. These are entry-level positions that would be great for someone new to the job market or someone in a career transition.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Title: Program Coordinator, Philadelphia Academies, Inc.
Reports to: Senior Director of Program Services
Primary Objective: To organize and implement all career related experiences, that result in the employment and/or transition to post-secondary education for Academy students and graduates.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week. Office location in Center City. Academy schools sites throughout the city.

Position: This is a full-time, temporary position at the Philadelphia Academies, Inc. starting in January 2003 to June 2003. The temporary position does not offer benefits.

Skills necessary for successful performance of the responsibilities and duties: Minimum 1-year employment, sales or customer service experience; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Ability to effectively interact with students, teachers, board members and employers; Ability to work on a variety of projects simultaneously; Ability to order priorities and meet timelines; Ability to make effective presentations to high school students; Knowledge of Child Labor Laws, especially as relates to types of work and work scheduled permitted for high school age students; Ability to effectively solve problems, counsel students and mediate student/employer problems, as necessary or requested; Flexible to travel to Academy school sites and business locations throughout the city of Philadelphia.
