Pew Fellowships in the Arts to Support Philadelphia-Area Artists
Deadline: December 4, 2006

Funded by the Pew Charitable Trusts (<a href="http://www.pewtrusts.org/">http://www.pewtrusts.org/</a>) and administered by the University of the Arts (<a href="http://uarts.edu/">http://uarts.edu/</a>), the Pew Fellowships in the Arts awards grants of $50,000 each to outstanding Philadelphia-area artists.

PFA makes awards to artists working in twelve different discipline categories, which rotate on a four-year cycle. For 2007, fellowships will be awarded in the fields of Choreography, Crafts, and Music Composition.

The intent of PFA is to recognize and reward outstanding artists at any stage of their career development who live and work in the five-county Philadelphia area; who have demonstrated commitment and professional accomplishment within their field; and who will continue their artistic growth within the five-county Philadelphia area. The grants provide artists with economic freedom so that they have the opportunity to concentrate on their work over a considerable period of time. Up to twelve fellowships are awarded annually.

Applicants must have been verifiable Pennsylvania residents of Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, or Philadelphia County for two years or more immediately prior to the application deadline. Matriculated students (full- or part-time) in degree-granting programs or the equivalent are not eligible.

Visit the PFA Web site for complete fellowship details, eligibility information, and application procedures.
