Personalized Learning Award of Excellence

NCAN is pleased to call for nominations for The Personalized Learning Award of Excellence, generously supported by The College Board

The Personalized Learning Award of Excellence recognizes a college access/success organization for incorporating technology into their program without losing sight of the importance of human mentorship in supporting student achievement. The best educational technology enables personalization of learning and depth of content that is impossible to deliver by humans alone – but without the mentorship and support of humans in the room even the greatest technology can become useless. All nominees must be a member of NCAN in good standing for the 2015-2016 membership years. A $5,000 award will be paid to the recipient organization for general operating support, scholarships, and/or technology needs.

Nominations should include:

  • Description of the nominated program
  • Qualitative data that shows how the organization is using technology combined with human interaction to increase/improve services supporting student achievement
  • A letter of support from someone other than the nominator and/or nominee. This letter should be no longer than one typed page.
  • Awards will be determined based upon demonstrated merit through letters of support, program descriptions, and qualitative data provided. Nominees must be NCAN members in good standing. Programs may self-nominate.

Nominations will be considered by The College Board and NCAN. In order to be considered, complete nomination packets must be received by Thursday August 20, 2015. Nominations will only be accepted via email as a single scanned pdf attachment to Amina Anderson Pringle, Member Service Manager, atpringlea@collegeaccess.org. Late applications will not be accepted.

This award will be presented at NCAN’s 20th Anniversary National Conference September 28-30 2015 in Orlando, Florida. While nominees are not required to attend, NCAN asks that they make every effort to be present at the National Conference. For more information on the conference, please visit the 2015 National Conference Page.

We look forward to your participation and to recognizing the important work being done by NCAN members around the country. If you have any questions, please contact Amina Anderson Pringle at pringlea@collegeaccess.org or (202) 347-4848 x208.
