People and Places 2019 – Apr 15-17
Posted by National Alliance of Community Economic Development Associations on February 5, 2019
Be part of the event that galvanizes the community development movement. Join people from different regions, cultures, and national networks as we share what’s working to strengthen America’s communities and advance racial equity.
Eighteen national nonprofits have joined forces to raise up local community development solutions. Learn what’s working to strengthen places and advance racial equity from the people making it happen. We’ll inspire each other, strengthen our skills, and unite our networks. Together, we will go to Capitol Hill to meet with Members of Congress about issues facing low-income people and disinvested places. You’ll bring home solutions that you can adapt and transform to serve your community.
This dynamic, peer-learning event will include approximately 100 presenters sharing successful strategies to promote equitable development, bolster small businesses, encourage asset growth, remediate blight, make places healthier, weave the arts into community development, and so much more. Watch for speaker announcements in early February.
Plan to attend April 15-17 at the Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel — minutes from Washington, DC and Reagan National Airport. A pre-conference workshop titled Claim the Torch: Community Organizations Advancing Racial Equity will be held on April 15 from 8:30-11:30 am at no extra charge.
