Pennsylvania Policy Manager, Teach Plus PA

Posted by Teach Plus PA on February 15, 2022

Teach Plus Pennsylvania is hiring for a Pennsylvania Policy Manager to start between March and June 2022. The policy manager will, with the support of the Pennsylvania Executive Director, lead Teach Plus’ Pennsylvania Teaching Policy Fellowship and statewide teacher network. We’re looking for someone (ideally a former educator) who is passionate about educational equity, familiar with state-level government and policymaking, skilled in modeling and facilitating adult learning around effective advocacy, and eager to make change in areas including equitable school funding, early childhood education, growing and diversifying the teacher pipeline, reimagining teacher preparation, and culturally affirming schools.

The Teach Plus Pennsylvania Teaching Policy Fellowship and Statewide Teacher Network prepare highly effective, equity-oriented teachers to deepen their knowledge of education policy, amplify the voices of teacher leaders in Pennsylvania, and become trusted partners for decision makers and media.  The Pennsylvania Policy Manager will be a credible broker between teachers and policymakers, leveraging partnerships in order to lay the groundwork for teacher voice and create opportunities for teacher leaders to have influence on critical issues.

Reporting to the Pennsylvania Executive Director, the Pennsylvania Policy Manager will have overall management responsibility for running the Pennsylvania Policy Fellowship program and supporting other teacher policy work across the state, growing and planning programming for the Statewide Teacher Network, and building partnerships and relationships in Pennsylvania.
