Penn State in the City: Making a Difference in the Community

A Special Urban Agriculture Festival for Penn State Alumni

Save the Date: Saturday, April 27, 2013
Time: 1:00 – 5:00 PM
Place: SHARE
2901 West Hunting Park Avenue
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19129

Come experience what Penn State’s legendary EXTENSION program does in and for the City of
Philadelphia – growing food, teaching families how to eat well and be good parents, involving kids in fun
and healthy activities.

Lots of hands-on demonstrations and fun activities for kids showcasing the wide range of leading edge,
science focused, agricultural education services provided by PSU EXTENSION. Tour high tunnels and meet
the farmers who use them to grow food year round throughout the city; see cooking demonstrations;
learn how to keep bees in your backyard and be a master gardener; watch 4-H kids demonstrate their
archery skills.

Best of all, grow your connection from Philadelphia to PSU while you mix and mingle and sample free
food and soft beverages, listen to live music, purchase harder beverages, participate in a scavenger
hunt, and have some fun in the photo booth. Stay tuned for more details.

and surplus contributions will go to SHARE (http://www.sharefoodprogram.org).
