Peace Day Philly
Posted by Peace Day Philly on June 5, 2017
Peace Day Philly is the local initiative for the International Day of Peace, observed around the world on and around September 21. Join the local and global community! Engage your school/students in peace activities anytime the week of Sept. 18. Go to http://www.peacedayphilly.org‘s What Can You Do? section for many Peace Day ideas. The Children and Youth section has a downloadable 1-page flier with easy ways to participate, as well as links to many peace-based lessons and activities.
One meaningful way to mark Peace Day is to “plant” a Peace Pole, which can serve as a gathering place for your school community and link your school to communities across the world. These poles include the words “May Peace Prevail On Earth” in several languages (chosen by the schools) and can be placed inside or out. To learn more about Peace Poles, go to: http://www.peacepoleproject.org/.
