PCORI Accepting Applications for Engagement Award: Dissemination Initiative
Authorized by Congress in 2010 as a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization, the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) works to help patients, caregivers, clinicians, policy makers, and other healthcare system stakeholders make better-informed health decisions by “advancing the quality and relevance of evidence about how to prevent, diagnose, treat, monitor, and manage diseases, disorders, and other health conditions.”
In support of this mission, the organization is accepting applications for its Eugene Washington Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) Engagement Award: Dissemination Initiative. Grants of up to $300,000 over two years will be awarded to projects that encourage the active integration of patents, caregivers, clinicians, and other healthcare stakeholders as members of the patient-centered outcomes research/clinical effectiveness research (PCOR/CER) enterprise.
Award funds are intended to allow organizations and communities to bring relevant findings to users in ways that will command their attention and interest, encouraging the incorporation of this information in decision making. Dissemination strategies can include those that increase audience size and participation, increase people’s motivation to use and apply evidence, and/or increase people’s ability to use and apply evidence.
Eligible candidates can be from any private- or public-sector organization, including any nonprofit or for-profit organization or any unit of local, state, or federal government. All U.S.-based applicant organizations must be recognized as tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Non-domestic components of organizations based in the United States and foreign organizations may also apply, as long as there is demonstrable benefit to the U.S. healthcare system, and U.S. efforts in the area of patient-centered research can be clearly shown.
Organizations may submit multiple applications for funding. Individuals are not permitted to apply.
Letters of Intent are due May 31, 2019. After review, selected applications will be asked to submit a complete proposal within forty days of the review and approval of the LOI.
See the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute website for complete program guidelines and application instructions.
Deadline: May 31, 2019 (Letters of Intent)
