Partnerships That Work: The Challenges and Successes of Sustaining Campus/Community Collaborations

Register now for the NYCC/PACC Conference: “Partnerships That Work: The Challenges and Successes of Sustaining Campus/Community Collaborations”, October 21-23 at the Chateau Resort in Tannersville, PA. This conference will offer interactive and informative workshops, key speakers, and opportunities for professional development and networking.
We are pleased to announce that featured speakers include:
* David Maurrasse, Ph.D., President and Founder of Marga Incorporated, a non-profit research and consulting firm focused on innovative cross-sector partnerships and philanthropy to meet pressing social issues.
* James T. Harris, President, Widener University, Under Dr. Harris’ leadership, Widener aspires to be a national model for how a university uses its resources to develop a robust learning environment for its students while simultaneously addressing the most pressing needs of the metropolitan areas that it serves. This commitment is evident in two of Widener’s goals: to inspire students to be citizens of character who demonstrate professional and civic leadership, and contribute to the vitality and well-being of the communities we serve.
* Maureen Curley, President of Campus Compact, a national coalition of more than 1,100 college and university presidents dedicated to advancing campus-based service, service-learning, and civic engagement.
* Elson Nash, Interim Director, Learn and Serve (invited)
You will also hear from PACC/NYCC Learn and Serve subgrantees on their projects’ accomplishments and challenges. Workshops will feature such topics as outcomes and assessment, community partnerships, institutionalizing service-learning on your campus, working with faculty, partnering with other institutions, and developing service-learning networks within academic disciplines.
