Partnerships for Equity and Excellence: The Community School Strategy – Using American Rescue Act Funds
Posted by Netter Center for Community Partnerships on June 22, 2021
Community school leaders Martin J. Blank, Ira Harkavy, Jane Quinn, and Lisa R. Villarreal have released a brief, Partnerships for Equity and Excellence: The Community School Strategy, to inform school and community leaders how the American Rescue Act funds can be used to expand community schools.
There is specific recognition that higher education institutions have an important role to play by “engag[ing] their students, faculty, and staff as active partners working with public school teachers and students to improve learning, as well as providing an array of opportunities and the use of university facilities.”
The American Rescue Plan Act gives schools and communities an opportunity to reimagine education systems and accelerate the transformative change many communities have been striving for.
