Partnerships Associate, Sustainable Business Network

The Sustainable Business Network (SBN) is a 500-member business association building a just, green, and thriving economy in the Greater Philadelphia region by educating and growing local, independent businesses and educating policymakers and the public. SBN’s Green Economy Department manages strategic partnerships with businesses to support three program areas: research, education, and training. SBN seeks qualified applicants for an exempt full-time position to serve as Partnerships Associate. Deadline to apply is December 10th.

The Partnerships Associate is a multi-faceted position and an ideal candidate excels in business development and sales, research, project management, and communications. SBN is in growth mode and beginning to implement a three-year strategic plan; the Partnerships Associate should be comfortable with change and enthusiastic about working on a team to help shape the organization’s future.

3-5 years of experience working with regional businesses; Business development, sales, and/or recruitment experience preferred;

Qualifications:
Experience should include project management and contract reporting;
Demonstrated research experience;
Excellent written communication skills, demonstrated through writing samples;
Excellent oral communication skills, including public presentations;
Self-motivated; able to work independently and balance multiple tasks;
Demonstrated commitment to SBN’s values;
Experience working with diverse communities;
Proficiency with basic computer skills including PowerPoint is required;
Experience with Adobe Suite is a plus;
Event planning experience is a plus.

Activities would include, but are not limited to:

Manage two strategic partnerships: Business United for Conservation (BUC) with business partners in stormwater management industries and the Green Job Readiness Partnership (GJRP) with business partners in construction and energy efficiency industries;

Cultivate eighty new business partners annually for the strategic partnerships, BUC and GJRP;

Expand and refine current business partner strategies to increase the value of participation; Coordinate and support research projects, including the Emerging Industries Project, an ongoing business-centered research project focused on barriers to growth for businesses in emerging industries;

Research resources for business partners and develop effective communication tools for their distribution;

Manage contract reporting;

Administer state training funds for BUC partnership;

Seek opportunities for new contracts and funding for additional business services;

Keep robust notes on business relationships and communications in our Salesforce database;

Coordinate monthly meetings, events, and site visits

The Partnerships Associate reports to the Director of Green Economy Initiatives. SBN is an equal opportunity employer. Salary range is $32,500-$35,000 plus benefits.
