Partner Support Coordinator VISTA
Read by 4th is a citywide effort of an ever-growing network of partners working to dramatically increase the number of children reading on grade-level by the time they begin 4th grade. Led by the Free Library of Philadelphia, the coalition of 90+ organizations works to support early learning experiences that build school-readiness and to promote quality reading instruction, access to summer and out-of-school-time learning, and daily on-time attendance. The Partner Support Coordinator will advance this work by building the communications tools needed to share information among partners, align key messages, and mobilize further awareness and support for the campaign.
The Partner Support Coordinator VISTA will be part of the 2017-2018 Serve Philadelphia VISTA Corps. Serve Philadelphia VISTAs are AmeriCorps members who fight the injustices and causes of poverty facing individuals and communities in Philadelphia by serving in city departments full-time for one year. This is a one year term of service, beginning July 17th 2017 and ending July 20th 2018.
Responsibilities include:
• Conduct best practices research to inform the campaign’s social media and communications strategy
• Develop goals for increasing engagement and raising awareness of key campaign messages
• Manage ongoing partner communications, including social media, newsletter, and website
• Identify opportunities to highlight the work of our partner organizations to promote shared learning and collaboration
Qualifications:
• Excellent writing skills, with demonstrated ability to create engaging content for a variety of platforms and audiences
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
• Strong graphic design skills preferred
Requirements:
• Complete a Bachelor’s Degree by start of service
• Current U.S. citizen or permanent resident
• Interest in government, policy, social justice and/or community engagement
• Complete a criminal background check and child abuse clearance (if you are selected)
