Posted by on March 19, 2007
Students at Shaw Middle School are participating in a community service learning project by organizing the annual community Health Fair. The school-wide community service project is an applied learning strategy that teaches students various academic skills. On behalf of the students and staff an invitation is extended to your organization to participate in Shaw Middle School Annual Health Fair.
The Shaw Middle School Annual Health Fair will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2007. The health fair will begin at 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The school is located at 54th & Warrington Avenue. In the event of inclement weather, we will use the girls? gym during the same time.
Your organization provides exceptional services to many people throughout this city and other communities. Both students of Shaw Middle School and the residents of this community will greatly benefit from your efforts by taking part in the health fair. The staff at Shaw Middle School believes the residents of this community will become familiar with and apply healthier living practices through community health-oriented outreach programs that your organization is currently providing.
The layout for the Shaw Middle School Health Fair will include setting up in the school parking lot where organizations can display, distribute, demonstrate or present their specific programs or services. Eight foot (8?) tables will be assigned and arranged in the parking lot area. Representatives from your organization will be able to show their exposition of various activities, programs and services during the health fair time frame. Handouts, flyers, give-aways, presentation boards and exhibits can easily be displayed on or near your assigned table area. Also, please bring table covers, presentation equipment, and anchors to prevent loose material from blowing off the table. Please indicate your participation early so that appropriate arrangements can be made prior to the health fair date.
