KicksUSA Greater Opportunities Program
Overview
The KicksUSA Greater Opportunities Program, a collaboration between JAKO Enterprises Ltd. and the
North 5th Street Revitalization Project (N5SRP), is seeking a part-time Program Coordinator-Instructor
for its 2012 summer youth employment program. Reporting to the Program Manager, the Program
Coordinator-Instructor will be responsible for a wide range of activities including coordinating program
logistics, leading weekly workshops, mentoring youth participants, and evaluating the program.

N5SRP is a division of the Korean Community Development Services Center, a 501(c)(3) community development corporation that has served Philadelphia’s Olney neighborhood since 1984. The N5SRP
enhances the quality of life in Olney by maintaining a clean and safe environment, assisting small

Program Description
KicksUSA’s Greater Opportunities Program, from July 9 to August 17, will provide 12 Philadelphia
youths between 16 and 21 years old summer employment in a fast-paced, trend-setting retail
environment. Workshops and activities will offer participants opportunities to learn about retail and
business, personal money management, career possibilities, and develop work-related skills.
Responsibilities
The Program Coordinator-Instructor will work the Program Manager to:
! Develop a working knowledge of the KicksUSA business practices and culture
! Coordinate and lead weekly structured learning experiences about retail and business and personal development
! Act as liaison between store managers and program participants, as appropriate
! Provide in person, telephonic and e-mentoring to program participants
! Monitor, evaluate and document participants’ progress
! Other tasks as determined by the Program Manager
Qualifications
! Bachelor’s degree preferred
! Experience in a retail setting preferred
! Experience working with youth, particularly in underserved communities
! Outgoing and approachable personality
! Strong organizational and problem solving skills
! Ability to work independently and as part of a team
! Flexibility, creativity, initiative
Term / Hours
Mid/late June – mid August, 2012. Approximately 10 to 14 hours per week. Schedule is flexible, but
must be available Wednesdays.
Compensation
$14.00 – $18.00 per hour (depending on skills and experience)
