PUBLIC INTEREST LAW CENTER OF PHILADELPHIA—Part-time Special Education Lawyer Position Available
The Public Interest Law Center of Philadelphia, a nationally-renowned public interest law firm devoted to equality and systemic change, seeks a part-time special education lawyer. The special education lawyer will be responsible for special education cases and other strategies, such as coalition building, advocacy, and training, that are consistent with systemic special education goals pursued by the Law Center. The lawyer will report directly to the Executive Director and work closely with the Director of Disabilities and the Special Education Administrator.

Candidates should have 3-5 years experience as a trial lawyer. The candidate should be comfortable with a heavy case load requiring proactive and rapid decision-making. An interest in special education law is required; experience is preferred. Fluency in a second language is preferred. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, a strong advocate for clients, creative, demonstrate solid analytical and writing skills and demonstrate excellent people skills including the ability to work with families and children with disabilities and pro bono partners.
The position is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The salary and benefits are commensurate with experience.
