Part-Time Maintenance Employee (Messiah College Philadelphia Campus)

The Messiah College Philadelphia Campus currently has an opening for the position of Maintenance Worker. This part time (20 hours per week), year round position is responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of small college campus facilities (buildings and grounds) and for the overall safety and security of the campus and of college fleet vehicles. Education required includes a High school degree or equivalent. Other requirements include: 1 year supervisory experience, 3 years facilities experience or related trade; Familiarity with comprehensive custodial responsibilities and practices as they apply to a college campus; Working knowledge of physical and mechanical plant systems (carpentry/drywall, plumbing, electric, H/VAC, appliances, landscape/grounds maintenance); General mechanical aptitude; Familiarity with basic EPA/OSHA regulations for safe environment and work practices; Working knowledge of fire safety systems and issues; Reliable; Good interpersonal and communication skills; Ability to train and supervise student workers; Strong time management skills; Ability to manage time and projects without direct supervision; Ability to work independently and as a team player; Organized; Basic knowledge of computer usage (Microsoft Office Suite); Familiarity with, and ability to relocate technical equipment (phones, internet/cable, video teleconferencing) preferred.
