Part-Time Intern, Community HIV/AIDS program

CHAMP (Community HIV/AIDS Mobilization for Power) is seeking a part-time (20 – 25 hours a week) intern for the summer season in Brooklyn, NY or Philadelphia, PA.

CHAMP is a new intiative that will build the capacity for successful campaigns on local, state, national and international HIV/AIDS and related issues by providing opportunities for people in communities most impacted by the epidemic in the United States to become leaders of and participants in campaigns rooted in principles of human rights and racial and economic justice.

This internship is unpaid but will provide experience in a start-up social change organization, focusing on fundraising, development, and outreach; working alongside experienced community organizers and activists.

Intern Duties:
Drafting and editing grant applications
Drafting and editing outreach materials, such as brochures, posters and stickers
Assistance with fundraising and community events
Compiling and distributing grant and outreach materials
Online research

Skills necessary:
Excellent organizational skills
Computer skills
Ability to work independently
Spanish fluency a plus
Writing skills a plus
Design skills a plus
