We are currently seeking a Part-time Educator to work with our highly successful team of museum educators. The Part-time Educator will be responsible for daily educational programming and outreach as well as visitor services duties including group tours, admission desk and gift store responsibilities. The candidate we are looking for must have prior museum or classroom teaching experience to lead stimulating and engaging tours, classroom presentations, and specialized workshops for a diverse audience of students, teachers, families, and tour group visitors.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Lead weekday and weekend tours for all school, community, and camp groups of all ages and backgrounds including 90 to 120 minute guided tours and specialized activities
• Support education staff in developing and updating tours, specialized activities and existing programs
• Provide coverage for occasional evening tours and museum events
• BA/BS degree in Art, Education, Sociology, Anthropology, or History from an accredited college or university.
• Prior museum education, museum outreach, or classroom teaching experience in Philadelphia schools is a must
• Experience working with urban youth and families
• Experience working in a multicultural setting and sensitive to multicultural issues
• Strong writing and computer skills
• Must be available to work weekends and some evenings
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Superior customer service skills, flexibility and a positive attitude
