Part-Time Driver/Youth Mentor, Students Run Philly Style – Aug 2
Posted by Students Run Philly Style on July 20, 2021
Students Run Philly Style (SRPS) is a 501(c)3 with a mission to transform lives through mentorship and long-distance running. Since 2004, Students Run Philly Style has supported youth in 6th – 12th grade as they train with mentors to meet an often unimaginable challenge: running a long-distance race.
MileUp is a SRPS program in partnership with the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office (PDAO). The first Youth Diversion program of its kind, MileUp gives young people facing delinquency charges a chance to remain outside of the traditional court system, and holds youth accountable while giving them a chance to build a healthy future.
The Driver/Youth Mentor is essential to the success of the MileUp program and will transport youth to and from the program site(s) in the Philadelphia area in their personal vehicle on Tuesday/Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. The Driver/Youth Mentor is encouraged to participate in running practices with students, but is not required to do so. Running experience not needed!
We are seeking to fill 3 Driver/Youth Mentor positions to work together with a team of Youth Advocates who provide ongoing case management to youth and discusses any student concerns or needs for additional support with youth advocates. The program season runs from August 17th to November 23rd, and the Driver/Youth Mentor is expected to commit to the full season.
Application deadline: August 2, 2021
Start date; August 9, 2021
