PART-TIME DATA AND OUTCOMES COORDINATOR

The United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania’s mission is to harness, leverage and strategically invest the collective power of donors, advocates and volunteers, to drive measurable results that improve the lives of people in our region.  We have an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to join the Center of Youth Development as a Part-Time Data and Outcomes Coordinator in our Community Impact Department.  The ideal candidate oversees United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania’s funding, community leadership, and quality improvement services designed to strengthen networks of programs and supports for older youth.

The primary functions of the Data and Outcomes Coordinator are to work approximately 30 hours per week to manage qualitative and quantitative data; perform basic data analysis, present and interpret data; communicate findings in internal and external reports for non-technical audiences; and respond to staff data requests as needed.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in social sciences-related discipline; Master’s Degree preferred.  Four years of progressively responsible work experience related to data management, qualitative and quantitative data analysis, data reporting, and data presentation required.  Professional experience in research or academic context is highly desirable.  Demonstrated experience using intermediate to advanced Excel features and techniques required.  Experience with ETO database is desirable.

Essential Functions:

Data, Outcomes and Performance Management

•    Collect data and provide reports.
•    Prepare, maintain, and track a variety of data files, reports, and records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
•    Provide information back to the requestor in the form of tables, graphs, and written analyses as specified by the Data and Outcomes Manager.
•    Maintain computer-based databases including entering data, requesting additions, reports, or modifications, and running reports for the purpose of communicating and compiling descriptive information regarding CYD’s training, technical assistance, and quality improvement activities.
•    Enter and analyze qualitative and quantitative data and provide trends and analyses for reporting and continuous improvement including:
–    Data Categorization – Define appropriate categories for coding the information collected
–    Data Coding – Assign responses to data categories and recoding
–    Creating Data Files and Codebooks or Restructuring Current Data Files – Enter data into the computer, create data files or restructure existing data files, create/revise codebooks to describe data files.
–    Generating New Variables – New variables may be computed by data manipulations to multiply, sum, or otherwise transform variables
–    Tabulation – Summaries the responses to each variable included in the analysis
•    Synthesize information from various data sources for data reports.
•    Respond to data and information requests and perform administrative tasks as needed by the CYD unit.
•    Coordinate the Community Impact Training Institute (CITI) registration process, to include receipt and return of phone inquiries, track and reconcile registration records, and manage training fees.
•    Assist Data and Outcomes Manager with other data-related tasks to ensure that all data is entered, analyzed, and reported in a consistent and timely manner.

Strategic Investments and Leadership to Advance UWSEPA’s “Graduation for All” Agenda

•    Participate in strategic partnerships, work groups, roundtables, and other committees related to performance management and supports to promote youth gradating from high school equipped with skills and knowledge for post secondary education and career success.
•    Contribute to the development of new initiatives, projects and targeted investments related to data and outcomes.
•    Contribute to the writing of Requests for Proposals as needed; analyze funding requests and develop funding recommendations.  Maintain relationships and communication with assigned funded or partner agencies.
•    Generally support the work of the Center for Youth Development, the Children and Youth Division, the Community Impact Department, and the organization as a whole.
•    Other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will have the ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports that can easily be interpreted by end-users and stakeholders.  He/she has excellent communication skills (verbal and written), basic quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills as well as time and project management skills.  The ideal candidate has data entry and organizational skills, and has experience with data reporting and data presentation including creating charts and graphs in Excel.   This position requires knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications specifically Excel.
