PA Environmental Education Grants Now Open – Nov 14

2026 PA Environmental Education Grants are open to schools, businesses, county conservation districts, and non-profit organizations Multiple grant tiers are available for all sizes of projects.

More than $1 million is available for projects that provide meaningful environmental education projects through the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s (DEP) Environmental Education Grants Program. Grant applications will be accepted through November 14, 2025.

The 2026 DEP EE Grants Program welcomes applications for the development of innovative education projects that address air and water quality, land use, and/or climate change. Project proposals must demonstrate objectives to heighten public understanding of PA’s environmental issues and to increase individual and/or community environmental stewardship and advocacy.

Approximately $1,020,000 is forecasted for 2026 grant distribution to eligible applicants such as public and private schools and universities, county conservation districts, non-profit organizations, and businesses. Projects must be implemented July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. There are three tiers of awards available: Seed Grants for projects up to $5,000; Grow Grants for projects between $5,001 and $30,000; and Impact Grants for projects between $30,001 and $65,000.

Funding priority is given to environmental education projects that engage people living, working, recreating, and/or attending school within Environmental Justice areas or otherwise underserved communities.

The EE Grants Program has supported a wide range of activities from establishing pollinator habitat, sustainable and restorative agriculture projects, stormwater control workshops, green careers, and climate change awareness and prevention.
