Outreach Specialist
The Delaware Division of Social Services is seeking candidates able to perform specialized social service work primarily in client homes and in community settings. The position involves assessment and recruitment of work registrants for participation in a pilot employment and training program. Work includes calling, interviewing, outreaching, and determining needs of clients seeking employment and training and providing ongoing case management. Experience assisting clients to address specific problem areas, crisis intervention, and barrier removal are key skills. Other skills and experience include:
1. Ability to learn and apply detailed program policies and regulations.
2. Possess effective interpersonal and communications skills
3. Knowledge of tracking and data management techniques.
4. Proficient using word processing and spreadsheet programs.
5. Ability to create summary reports and case notes
JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.
2. Two years of experience in health or human services support such as interviewing clients and assessing personal, health, social or financial needs in accordance with program requirements or coordinating with community resources to obtain client services.
Two years of experience in customer service.
Two years of experience in using an automated information system to enter, update, modify, delete, retrieve/inquire and report on data.
