Living Beyond Breast Cancer is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to connect people with trusted breast cancer information and a community of support. LBBC provides support and education for individuals throughout the country who are impacted by breast cancer. The Position
The Outreach Manager is responsible for managing and implementing outreach initiatives to healthcare providers and low income constituents.
Specific responsibilities include:
- In consultation with the Associate Director, Outreach and Partnerships and other key staff, develop comprehensive yearly plans for outreach to healthcare providers and low income constituents. Manage the implementation of both plans.
- Build and maintain relationships with key organizations in the healthcare and low income communities to ensure that they are engaged with LBBC.
- Manage and execute the Cis B. Golder Quality of Life Grant program, which provides financial assistance to low-income women in breast cancer treatment living in the Greater Philadelphia region.
- Manage and execute LBBC’s travel grant program for the organization’s national conferences. Work with the external management vendor to ensure that the program is implemented successfully.
- Manage LBBC’s strategic participation at national conferences. Coordinate LBBC staff attendance and, in partnership with the Marketing Department, manage all aspects of exhibit participation.
- Manage the implementation of the partnership with the Patient Access Network Foundation, including supervising the part-time Outreach Assistant. This outreach partnership engages low income people living with metastatic breast cancer.
- Represent LBBC externally at regional and national events, conferences, and meetings.
- Manage outreach to special populations, as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human services, public health, or related field, master’s degree preferred
- 3-5 years of experience conducting outreach to low income individuals and professional groups
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong computer application skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Self-directed individual, strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple initiatives in a collaborative environment
- Ability to travel both locally and nationally
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends frequently
Preferred Background
- Proven ability of successful community engagement and relationship building
- Experience working with low income communities
- Interest in women’s health issues
- Experience with relational databases, such as Salesforce or Raisers Edge
