Outreach and Program Coordinator of the Penn Women’s Center
The Outreach/Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating outreach initiatives including programs that actively engage student leaders and members of PWC affiliated groups. The Coordinator will develop creative and effective outreach and programming strategies for all PWC constituents with a focus on reaching undergraduates, graduate and professional students. The Coordinator is responsible for developing promotional materials and collaborating with other University offices to implement the PWC mission, services and work plan initiatives. The Coordinator has oversight for maintaining and updating the PWC website and other online publicity sites (eg: Facebook, Twitter). Alternative schedule including frequent evenings and occasional weekends required. Position reports to the Director.
A Bachelor’s Degree is required and 2-3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing effective programming and outreach strategies required. Knowledge of a broad range of women’s issues and/or experience working with women’s groups and organizations required. Must be attentive to details and provide accurate information within given timeframes. Must work well independently and collectively and be comfortable giving presentations to groups both large and small. Outgoing personality and high energy highly desirable for this position. Experience working in a University setting with diverse constituents preferred. Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research and to identify “best practices” in order to develop outreach/networking activities and materials preferred. Must be computer literate and proficient with Office XP, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, web technology and digital media such as Facebook and Twitter.
