Interested in using data to improve the coordination and quality of social services? Want to gain experience working in city government and make connections with hundreds of people in Philadelphia’s youth development and nonprofit sectors?

PhillyBOOST is currently recruiting an AmeriCorps VISTA member for a one-year term with start date August 25 to serve as our Out-of-School Time Data Coordinator VISTA!

This VISTA position is part of a group of 26 SERVE Philadelphia VISTAs who all serve in various departments of city government, working to reduce poverty. The Out-of-School Time (OST) Data Coordinator VISTA will work out of the Deputy Mayor’s Office for Health & Opportunity with the PhillyBOOST project, but will also have the opportunity to participate in additional SERVE Philly professional development, volunteering, and skill building activities.

Position Summary

During the 2015-2016 period, the PhillyBOOST project will focus on ensuring that we are meeting the data needs of our current body of after school and summer youth program providers using our Extended Information System (EIS). We will proactively reach out through site visits and other interactions to make sure the project’s envisioned goals are being met. This includes improving coordination and efficiency of resource allocation, supporting providers’ efforts to improve program quality and increasing youth access to a diverse pool of OST programs. Furthermore, we will continue to bring additional OST provider networks into our community of users. Using the growing and diverse set of data collected across the various OST networks, the Project will continue to analyze data and produce reports that assist providers and policymakers alike in informing and shaping OST program delivery.
