Good Schools Pennsylvania – Organizer

Good Schools Pennsylvania, a statewide grassroots advocacy organization promoting the fundamental right of all children to receive a high quality public education, is seeking organizers. Good Schools Pennsylvania has marked several key milestones, including securing legislation authorizing a comprehensive study on the resources needed by all schools to prepare all students to meet the state’s academic standards, and the adoption of a new school funding formula based on that study, which begins to direct state resources to the most financially overburdened and underfunded districts.

Experienced organizers are need to embark on the next phase of the organization’s work, which includes sustaining and expanding upon these state-level policy reforms, as well as supporting local stakeholders in holding schools accountable for the effective use of resources to close achievement gaps.  An immediate opening is available for a position based in Allegheny County. Positions in other parts of the state may also be available.
