Fight for Philly is looking for motivated, organized, and dedicated individuals with prior organizing experience to build a strong voice in our communities in Philadelphia. Must have passion for social justice and movement building, excellent communications skills, ability to work long and irregular hours, and be able to work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Contact members and potential members and develop activists and leaders
Conduct community meetings and coordinate community actions
Represent Fight for Philly at community and allied events

Qualifications:

Prior labor and/or community organizing experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to represent Fight for Philly and our campaigns to a variety of audiences
Strong ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines and maintain organized records
Ability to work well as part of a diverse team
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel
Travel throughout the city is required
Billingual speakers encouraged to apply

The organizer position is based in Philadelphia, PA, and will focus on organizing community members in the city. Hours are not traditional 9 to 5 and you will be expected to work some weekends. A car and driver’s license is required. Compensation is competitive and includes medical insurance benefits.
