Oregon ‘25 Institute on Teaching Social Action – May 17-18

Posted by Corella & Bertram F. Bonner Foundation on March 25, 2025

The Oregon ‘25 Institute on Teaching Social Action on May 17-18, 2025 will be held at Portland State University. Today, many college students feel disengaged from our democracy, and while many college courses teach about democracy and change, few courses provide students the opportunity to learn by doing them.

The registration-free Oregon ’25 Institute is being hosted by Sally Eck, Gender Studies Department at Portland State, who went through the Institute and is teaching her first social action course this semester, and will be led by Sally along with Scott Myers-Lipton, who developed a social action course at San José State in 2006, and taught it 30 times. Click here to learn more about our social action model, and here to explore the 33 social action courses being taught this semester and the numerous student campaigns developed.

If you have any questions about the Oregon ’25 Institute, please contact Scott Myers-Lipton at [email protected].

Applications are due on Monday, May 5, 2025.
