Opportunities for Native American Heritage Month, Pulitzer Center
Posted by Pulitzer Center on October 22, 2024
Native American Heritage Month begins November 1! Create space for in-depth reflection on the issues affecting Indigenous communities in your classroom by joining a virtual visit with a Pulitzer Center journalist.
Our guest speakers can share stories they have reported from Native communities, including the continuing impacts of government-mandated residential schools for Native children; how Indigenous doulas are making childbirth a safer and more affirming experience for Native parents; and how Native communities from Florida to Alaska are adapting to and mitigating climate change.
Educators can sign up for our featured journalist event opportunity, which will connect classrooms across the country with a journalist for meaningful conversations during Native American Heritage Month. You can also request one of our limited-availability private virtual visits for your classroom. We look forward to connecting with you and your students!
Sign up for our featured Native American Heritage Month event.
