Operation Warm Seeks Schools and Volunteers
Posted by Operation Warm on May 14, 2018
Operation Warm (www.operationwarm.org) a national charity based out of Chadds Ford, PA, provides brand-new winter coats to children in need, helping improve self-confidence, peer acceptance, school attendance, and overall wellness. Our coat gifting programs are funded by grants and corporate sponsorships.
We are currently seeking K-5 or K-8 schools as potential beneficiaries for our 2018 coat program. Title 1 schools, schools where 40% or more of students’ families are at or below 150% of the federally prescribed poverty level, or schools with high percentages of students receiving free or reduced lunches are typically eligible. Children may also be identified by living in a shelter, or through a human service agency or other direct-service organization. To learn more or to discuss a joint grant writing project, please contact aprice@operationwarm.org
Operation Warm is also seeking local volunteers to help with our high energy, high impact coat distribution events. Approximately 500 coats are gifted to elementary school children during a typical four hour event. Individuals and groups are welcome!
