Online Event: Mapping Your Liberation – Apr 7
Posted by Stockton Rush Bartol Foundation on March 22, 2022
Freedom and liberation can be a dream and it can also be your present. I am inspired by the strategy and ingenuity enslaved Africans and other peoples had to use to carve pathways to freedom. This workshop asks, what does a map of liberation look like? Join teaching artist Jihan Thomas for this workshop that will use visual art techniques to envision your liberation map by using elements of map making, topography, illustration, landscape drawing, and color theory to symbolize the process. We will incorporate trauma informed art and somatic techniques, and share strategies for incorporating these ideas in your teaching practice. Teaching artists in all disciplines are welcome and you can participate with whatever materials you have easily at hand!
Date and Time: Thursday, April 7 2022, 6:00-7:30 PM
