The National Youth Leadership Council (NYLC) is now enrolling participants in our Certificate in Instructional Leadership—an advanced professional learning opportunity designed for experienced educators, school leaders, and youth-serving practitioners.

Whether you’re building staff capacity, mentoring colleagues, or strengthening service-learning across your organization, this certificate will equip you with the tools, strategies, and confidence to lead with clarity and purpose.

About the Program

This certificate program blends cutting-edge service-learning pedagogy with a strong focus on instructional leadership. Participants explore research-based frameworks, planning models, and practical tools that support both student achievement and civic engagement. Through interactive, hands-on learning experiences, you’ll strengthen your ability to lead high-quality service-learning initiatives within your school or community organization.

The program is ideal for teachers, instructional coaches, curriculum coordinators, counselors, youth program directors, and anyone working to advance service-learning in K–12 or out-of-school-time settings.

Flexible Learning Options

To meet the needs of busy professionals, we offer two flexible course formats:

Asynchronous: Learn at your own pace via Google Classroom with access to rich content, reflection prompts, and interactive planning tools. Asynchronous participants are also invited to join our optional Community of Practice, held the second Monday of each month from 3:00–4:00 PM CST, for peer connection, problem-solving, and reflection.

Synchronous: Join a live, virtual cohort for real-time collaboration and discussion with expert facilitators and peers. Our Summer 2025 Intensive includes two full-day sessions:

• Monday, July 14 | 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. CST
• Monday, July 21 | 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. CST
