Description
CADCOM is designated as the lead anti-poverty agency for Montgomery County in Pennsylvania. The Food Resource Center administrates a network of food pantries and kitchens that supply emergency food. The center also seeks to promote improved nutrition and wellness. This position is created to promote the goals of the program, Montco Nutrition Outreach (MNO). We are seeking a full-time employee, but will consider a split part-time position.

The Nutrition Educator will work to fulfill the program requirements of the Pennsylvania Nutrition Education Program in Montgomery County. The Nutrition Educator will provide direct service to a Food Stamp eligible population at a variety of sites, including food pantries, day-care facilities, senior centers, farmer?s markets and schools. Daily program needs determine the duties in addition to the following:

Duties:
? Research Community Nutrition issues and programs.
? Devise and disseminate educational information to the target audience.
? Develop and teach nutrition education classes and events.
? Assist in maintaining MNO/Food Resource Center client database.
? Attend outside meetings on Food and Nutrition issues as needed.
? Develop promotional materials.
? Give guidance and training to MNO partners.
? To perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications:
? Bachelor degree in Dietetics or Nutrition. RD NOT REQUIRED.
? Knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office.
? Strong writing and speaking skills.
? Ability to communicate and interact effectively with people.
? An interest in combining food, nutrition and anti-poverty issues.
? A desire to help others.
