Northeast Sustainable Agriculture Working Group Conference
November 11-12, 2014
Saratoga Springs, NY
KEYNOTE SPEAKER ANNOUNCED:
JIM HIGHTOWER
“America’s #1 Populist” will give the keynote address at NESAWG’s It Takes a Region Conference on Tuesday, November 11, 2014.
Jim HightowerHightower is a natural for NESAWG — the national radio commentator, writer, public speaker, and New York Times best-selling author is a longtime food systems activist who served two terms as Texas’s Agriculture Commissioner. Raised in a family of small business people, tenant farmers, and working folks, Hightower has spent his 40-year career advocating for collaboration and change.
What does he have to tell hundreds of NESAWG Northeasterners about building a stronger, more resilient food system from New York to West Virginia and all across New England? If Hightower’s latest commentary on opposition to food labeling laws is any indication, his keynote will be part policy analysis and part spirited, irreverent call to action.
