This regional conference is designed for local planners and decision makers (elected, appointed and staff) to understand how to create healthy resilient communities that are better prepared to handle severe weather and climate impacts.
This pragmatic, hands-on, interactive conference offers workshops on how to:
* Conduct vulnerability assessments;
* Protect natural and societal mechanisms that maintain resilience;
* Frame and create plans that allow a community to adapt;
* Build community support to implement adaptive responses;
* Effectively use the government in responding to climate change;
* Network with schools, community planners and leaders working toward solving similar problems.
