Montgomery County Standards for Excellence Clinic Series
October 20, 2005
9:00am – 1:00pm
The Standards for Excellence Clinic Series provides educational support for assuring the implementation of best practices for nonprofit organizations. Created by and for the nonprofit sector, this program aims at self regulations as a means of improving operations and assuring accountability. The Clinic Sessions are designed to meet the needs of today?s busy nonprofit executives.
The Clinics consist of a four session series. The course combines classroom instruction and peer-to-peer learning and covers every Standard in the Standards for Excellence Code. Organizations enrolled in the clinic series send two representatives to each session. Since the goals of the Standard include a more educated and active Board, we strongly encourage that one representative be a board member. The series generally take place over three to four months. Curriculum consists of eight guiding principles:
1. Mission and Program
2. Openness
3. Governance
4. Conflict of Interest
5. Human Resources
6. Finance and Legal
7. Fundraising
8. Public Affairs and Public Policy
Clinic Series: $425 Member Rate, $850 Nonmember Rate: Provides for 2 representatives to attend all four (4 hour) clinic sessions; receive 2 Educational Packet binders.
If you are interested in attending this series, please contact Tony Karantonis at tony@pano.org.
If you have questions regarding the Clinics or the Standards, please contact Tish Mogan at tish@pano.org.
