Islamic Society of North America Invites Muslim Graduate Students to Apply for Nonprofit Management Fellowship
Deadline: February 1, 2011
The HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Islamic Society of North America Fellowship Program offers Muslim graduate students the opportunity to receive education and training in nonprofit management and philanthropy. The main objective of the program is to train effective and knowledgeable leaders who have the necessary skills how to manage a successful nonprofit organization in the United States.
The nine-month program provides participants with the opportunity to study nonprofit management, fundraising, capacity development, and other relevant fields at the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University or other similar accredited institution of higher education and/or center of philanthropic studies. In addition to a full-time academic schedule, fellows must be able to complete an internship with a local nonprofit organization. Fellows also will be required to participate in a five-day orientation and training program in May 2011.
Muslim graduate students pursuing a degree in nonprofit management, philanthropy, or other related fields are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to applicants enrolled at Indiana University programs in nonprofit studies or philanthropy. Applicants must have U.S. citizenship or legal permanent residency.
Ten fellows will be selected to participate in the program. Fellows will receive an award of up to $11,000 to cover tuition costs and other expenses, and a stipend of $1,000 per month for nine months.
Complete program information and application forms are available at the ISNA Web site.
