PANO, United Way offer workshops on nonprofit excellence
The Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations, in collaboration with United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania, is offering two workshops on PANO’s Standards for Excellence – Nonprofit Ethics and Accountability Programs in Philadelphia and Delaware County.
Stay ahead of the curve by improving accountability, efficiency and transparency. More critical than ever in this time, the Standards for Excellence program provides resources and a blueprint to address the needs of nonprofit organizations in today’s environment. This seminar is geared toward executive directors, board members, and nonprofit administrators desiring to implement best practices in nonprofit operations.
All participants will receive copies of the Standards for Excellence Code booklet and the organizational self-assessment form. Participants will learn about the education training and optional certification components of the Standards for Excellence Program.
In these informative Introductory Seminars, participants will learn the basics of the Standards for Excellence; complete a self-assessment exercise for the organization they are representing, to identify areas of excellence and opportunities for growth and improvement; and learn about education opportunities, the voluntary certification program and the process of applying for the Standards for Excellence Seal of Approval.
The Philadelphia introductory session, co-sponsored by State Sen. Shirley M. Kitchen, will take place on Thursday, January 29th, from 9am to noon at the Learning Center of Temple University Health System, 2450 W. Hunting Park Avenue (Corner of Hunting Park Ave. and Stokley Street) in Philadelphia.
Admission is $25 for PANO members, $35 for nonmembers. Board members and staff in St. Kitchen’s Third District can participate at no cost.
Third District organizations only may register by calling Senator Shirley Kitchen’s office at 215-227-6161 x25 or by registering on PANO’s website: select “3rd district” from the drop down option. All others register by choosing “Outside 3rd District” from the drop down option.
A session will also be held in Delaware County in partnership with Elko & Associates, LTD CPAs. The workshop will take place on Friday, January 30th from 9am to noon at 2 West Baltimore Avenue in Media. To register for this session, click here: http://www.pano.org/events.php
