Nonprofit Board Leaders Institute launched
United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania and The Philadelphia Foundation have partnered to launch a Nonprofit Board Leadership Institute.
Based on two years’ worth of research on the leadership development needs of volunteer leaders, this pilot program will provide nonprofit board chairs and their executive directors with some of the knowledge, tools, and support they seek to better lead the organizations they serve. Participating organizations, targeted to be those with budgets between $1 and $5 million, will be eligible to apply for $10,000 grants to implement some of the improvements their leaders recommend to their boards.
UWSEPA and The Philadelphia Foundation will provide these grants to a select number of organizations who attend the entire program — offered as four unique sessions on May 10th (5:30-8:30 pm), May 11th (8 am – noon), June 7th (5:30-8:30 pm), and June 8th (8 am – noon) – and complete a competitive application process.
To find out if seats remain for this exciting pilot program, call Romana Lee-Akiyama at 215-665-2584 or email [email protected].
