Nominations Open: Teacher As Hero Awards
Posted by on February 03, 2014
Summary
On Thursday, April 3, 2014, State Farm will sponsor and host the 2014 Teacher As Hero Awards at the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, PA.
Since 2000, State Farm has been a partner with the National Liberty Museum and in 2006 became the titled sponsor of the Teacher As Hero awards which includes funding for teacher training workshops focusing on conflict resolution, diversity, heroism, and civic engagement. Each year, teachers are honored for their exhibition of service, creativity, and perseverance in defusing violence and bullying through understanding and leadership in the classroom.
This year, we are excited to add a new category of recognition to our Teacher as Hero Awards, for teachers who have demonstrated excellence in teaching Teen Driver Safety or an auto safety initiative. The new award is an excellent addition to our Teacher as Hero program and a fitting recognition of State Farm’s pioneering work in auto safety and education.
Winners will be selected by a panel assembled by the Museum and notified in advance of the Awards ceremony.
