Youth Worker Professional Development
The National Youth Development Learning Network recently released two newsletters on professional development opportunities for Youth Workers. Because time and cost are deterrents of continuous learning, organizations are beginning to use a ‘blend’ of online learning with face-to-face opportunities. This ‘Blended Learning’ format has emerged as a timely and affordable alternative for organizations to ensure the professional development of staff. Additionally, as the number of opportunities for individuals who work on behalf of young people is increasing, community colleges and universities are beginning to offer formal coursework for those in the field of youth development.
