The Forum for Youth Investment Launches New Web Resource Focused on National Youth Policy
In December 2002, President Bush issued a memorandum establishing the White House Task Force for Disadvantaged Youth (the Task Force) to develop a “comprehensive Federal response” to the needs of disadvantaged youth, “with a focus on enhanced agency accountability and effectiveness.” The Task Force released its final report at the end of December 2003. Coordinated by the Forum for Youth Investment, the White House Task Force for Disadvantaged Youth Action Center (http://www.forumforyouthinvestment.org/whitehouse/actioncenter.htm) is devoted to tracking the implementation of the Task Force’s recommendations; advocating for deeper implementation; and increasing the participation of foundations, state and local policy makers, advocates, service providers, community and faith-based organizations, and young people in shaping the implementation of the recommendations.
