The Brookings urban center has released a new website (http://www.brookings.edu/urban/eitc) that collates basic data on EITC claims (and usage of RALs) from tax years 1997 through 2001. Users can view and download zip code-level data for one or all of these tax years for states, metro areas, counties, cities and towns. The site also contains some basic guidance on how these data can be used to describe the impact of the EITC in your community.
The new site also pulls together all of our research from the past couple of years on the EITC. When we receive TY2002 data from the IRS, we will add these to the site.
I hope you find this useful, and welcome your comments and suggestions.
