HUNGERBANQUET.ORG
Hunger. Poverty. Injustice.
http://www.hungerbanquet.org
Recently, Oxfam America launched HungerBanquet.org, an interactive online learning tool that illustrates the root causes of poverty and hunger in the world.
This innovative site invites a person to step into a world where access to food and other resources are often scarce. By “taking a seat” at the Hunger Banquet table, the user assumes the role of a person from a developing nation. They are forced to make choices which will determine their future?quandaries such as choosing between urgent medical care, schooling, and food. By the end of the activity, the user understands the day-to-day struggles facing millions.
Check it out at http://www.HungerBanquet.org. Then, please consider alerting your membership to this educational tool by posting an article in your organization’s e-newsletter and/or e-mailing them and asking them to learn more about the root causes of hunger, poverty, and injustice through this activity.
Please join us in making a difference. Go to the “Do more, Learn more” section of http://www.HungerBanquet.org to participate in other activities and become more involved.
Oxfam America is dedicated to finding lasting solutions to hunger, poverty, and injustice around the world. Through Oxfam’s Fast for a World Harvest campaign, hundreds of thousands of concerned people nationwide have been taking action against poverty, hunger and injustice for 30 years.
We invite you to visit http://www.hungerbanquet.org and spread the word.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Carty
National Outreach Coordinator
