Ethical Society, 1906 South Rittenhouse Square, Phila. The meeting is free and will include local architects, a slide presentation and refreshments. New Urbanism, a.k.a. Supplemental:
The New Urbanism is a declaration against the destructive forces of unchecked sprawl. Issues include the necessity for more concentrated development; better connections between transportation, housing and the work force; tax restructuring and environmental salvation.

Our speakers include: Thomas Comitta, head of a local town planning and landscape architecture firm, whose essay was included in the seminal publication: Charter of the New Urbanism. Mr. Comitta will show slides on the subject.

Scott Page, representing the Philadelphia architectural firm of Wallace Roberts & Todd, who will provide commentary.

Mitchell Gordon, urban planning journalist, whose column on smart growth appeared in the Phila. Metro on March 12 of this year, will preside.
