New Toolkit: Oxfam America/Buy Local
Posted by on September 6, 2002
This summer Oxfam America interns created a toolkit for students who want to pursue Buy Local Campaigns on their campus. These actions support the work of small farmers as well as providing an opportunity for students, staff and faculty to sample fresh, local produce in their communities. If you are interested in the toolkit, you can download a version from our website at
http://www.oxfamamerica.org/advocacy/art2567.html or

We are piloting the toolkit with a couple student groups but would love to have feedback from other groups interested in pursuing a Buy Local Campaignon their campus. The Food and Farm issue, we have found, has been great in connecting the larger issue of globalization to local concerns especially in rural and agriculturally rich areas. If you have any questions or are looking for more information feel free to send me an emailatxbenavides@oxfamamerica.org.
