New Survey Results: Alumni Perspectives—Are Student Loans Worth It?
Posted by Strada Education Network on April 13, 2021
The latest Strada Public Viewpoint provides research gathered over the course of 2020 in partnership with Gallup, and surveyed nearly 5,000 alumni who had borrowed money to pay for school about whether they thought their student loans were worth it. The data shows the amount of the loan, how much money someone makes, and how much education they completed don’t tell the whole story. Even accounting for these variables, Black and Latino alumni are less likely to report their loans were worth it. However, the standout factor across all individuals is whether they believe their college provided them with resources and support to get a good job.
