New Report: State of Community Gardens in Philadelphia

We’re writing to share our Harvest Report on community gardening in Philadelphia, which summarizes our research quantifying food production in gardens and tracing gardeners’ distribution of food.  We hope it is useful in understanding the recent history, current conditions, and especially the “informal” economies of community gardening – and more broadly, making sense of community gardens’ impacts on community food security.  We also hope it is useful as we work together to rebuild Philadelphia’s community gardening and urban agriculture sector.
