New Report: Roadmap for Change to Support Pregnant and Parenting Students
Posted by Urban Institute on January 10, 2023
A new report released by the Urban Institute frames disparities within the education system as an opportunity to improve practice, policy, and investment to support pregnant and parenting students. Despite multiple programs designed to help students thrive, the report says that few “were designed with parenting students in mind.”
In collaboration with a cross-sectoral Leadership Council, the Institute has developed a roadmap highlighting the “importance of coordinating policy and practice” to provide sufficient bandwidth and support to parenting students, mitigating disparities and creating a more equitable pathway to success.
