The Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities published a new report on May 7, 2026, that asks how public and land-grant universities must adapt to meet rising expectations for relevance, responsiveness, accountability, and real-world impact. Across three chapters Public Purpose, Renewed calls for public and land-grant universities to recommit to their public purpose by aligning mission, strategy, and data-driven engagement to become trusted, collaborative problem solvers delivering visible and verifiable benefits to the communities they serve.
